  • Account Information: Your full name, email address, role (student, staff, etc.), and password.
  • Profile Information: Any additional information you add to your profile, such as a bio, department, skills, interests, contact details, profile picture, and resume.
  • User Content: Achievements, projects, posts, comments, and messages you create and share on the platform.
  • Connection and Group Data: Information about your connections with other users and your membership in groups.
  • Usage Data: We may collect data on how you interact with our services, such as which features you use most often.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the MittUp platform.
  • Personalize your experience, such as showing you relevant content and connections.
  • Enable you to communicate with other users through connections and groups.
  • Send you notifications about platform activity, such as connection requests, new announcements, and messages.
  • Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with our services.
  • Enforce our terms of service and prevent misuse.

3. How We Share Your Information

Your information is shared in the following ways:

  • With Other Users: Your profile information (name, role, department, etc.) is visible to other users in the Community Hub. The visibility of more detailed information like your resume can be controlled in your profile settings.
  • Within Groups: Information, posts, and files shared within a group are visible to other members of that group.
  • Publicly: "Spotlight" achievements created by staff or admins may be visible on the public-facing homepage.
  • For Legal Reasons: We may share information if we believe disclosure is required to comply with any applicable law, regulation, or legal process.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Data Security

We use a variety of security measures to help protect your information. We use Firebase, a Google platform, which provides robust security for data storage and user authentication. However, no electronic transmission or storage of information can be entirely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Your Choices

You can review and update your profile information at any time through your dashboard. You can also control who can view your resume via the "Make CV/Profile Publicly Viewable" setting.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the top of the policy and, in some cases, we may provide you with additional notice (such as adding a statement to our homepage or sending you a notification).
